Kokomo Humane Society Update
The Kokomo Humane Society continues to manage a Strep Zoo (Streptococcus zooepidemicus) outbreak at the shelter. At this time, dogs are adoptable, and the Cat Café remains closed out of an abundance of caution.
Our emergency stray intake policy is still in effect. We can only accept emergency strays—injured or aggressive dogs and injured cats. Please avoid surrendering pets or bringing in stray animals until further notice. If an animal poses a public safety risk, call 765-452-6224. We can assist with temporary foster guidance and supplies as needed.
Thank you to our wonderful staff, volunteers and the Kokomo and Howard County communities for your ongoing support. For those that asked about current needs, you can find our online list HERE

NO MAXIMUM STAY TIME
Compassion Doesn’t Expire
KHS does not have maximum holding times. We keep adoptable animals as long as they stay healthy and we have space.
