How to Surrender an Animal to Our Shelter

We know surrendering a pet is difficult. Our team is here to support you and your pet and ensure you understand all your options.

Fill Out Our Owner Surrender Form: Please complete the form before your visit to help us assist you faster and make the process smoother.

Surrender Fee: There is no fee to surrender your pet.

Plan Ahead: Due to limited capacity, please plan ahead. We may need to turn pets away if space is unavailable.

Application Review: We will contact you within 48 hours. If you haven’t heard from us by then, please call 765-452-6224 to check your application status.

Important: We cannot accept animals from outside Howard County due to space limits. Please consider an alternative shelter, rescue or Independent Pet Rehoming via Rehome by Adopt-a-Pet (details below).
