The Kokomo Humane Society is a 501(c)3 and was established in 1891, making it one of the oldest non-profit organizations in Howard County. Although Animal Control is funded through city and county government, the Humane Society is funded by private monetary donations and memberships. We do not receive funding through any national organizations such as the ASPCA or HSUS.
Through your tax-free donations the Kokomo Humane Society is able to assist thousands of needy animals each year. Your generous donations help to support not only the care and sheltering of helpless and homeless animals, but also enable us to continue providing services to the community such as adoption, humane education and volunteering.
